Our sailboat has ablative antifouling and it all has to come off. We know there is damage to the boat (obviously) but what we don’t know is if there is MORE damage beneath the nasty paint. Pressure washing helped, but it’s time to get to work with some sanders, scrapers, paint stripper, oh and we even try an air compressor and soda blaster (lol).
This video was filmed throughout the course of many many weeks between other projects! Notice the multiple wardrobe changes as well as changes to the bottom of the boat in general as we grind and fiberglass behind these scenes.

Here’s what we *think* we know about her past. Keep in mind we bought her at auction without ever meeting the owner! The owner was sailing along and ran aground – hard. Hard enough that the keel pivoted and pushed the aft end up into the hull. This force cracked the internal grid in several places and broke a portion of the grid free from hull.
