For those of you that have been following my channel, you’d be aware that I’ve been taking various opportunities to go sailing aboard different boats so I can learn and gain experience.
Much of the local sailing community here in Queensland have embraced my willingness to learn, and I’m so thankful for the opportunities that have come my way, however, I now feel I’ve arrived at point where I want to extend my experience beyond the warm coastal waters of Queensland and find an opportunity that I believe will place me outside of my comfort zone and into an environment that presents a challenge.
So, earlier this year I came across an advertisement from a skipper who was looking for crew to help him sail the boat he recently purchased from Tasmania to mainland Australia.
I’ve read and heard stories about the notorious stretch of water called Bass Strait that lays between Australia and Tasmania, and I thought to myself… this might be what I’m looking for, so I replied to the Skipper, and before I knew it, I was aboard Kuro heading for Bass Strait and the Australian mainland…
I hope you’ll join me in these following videos as I find myself in a reality that goes beyond my imagination, and into a situation I really don’t want to be in.
