Better late than never! In this video we go back to May 2021 in the Chagos archipelago and set sail for the Seychelles over 1,100 nautical miles to the west. Our mooring permit (illegal to overstay) for Chagos was set to expire in a few days however, a large low-pressure system started developing to the west along our route. We are tasked with difficult decision making in determining whether or not it was safe to make the trip. Ultimately, with the help of experienced weather routers, we make the go decision and manage to outrun a potential threat.

We’re now 2/3 of the way across the Indian Ocean. It looks like the Seychelles will be our home for the next little while given the current situation of the world, working constraints, seasons, etc…. Regardless, we are really looking forward to getting to really know and explore this beautiful small island nation!
