It’s about time we checked in to French Polynesia, there’s only some much time that we can rely on the locals to give us a pass!
We jump onto our new friends’ yacht Calle II, a wonderful old Hallberg-Rassy, and head for Hiva Oa.
While we weave our way through the intricacies of checking in, assuring the authorities that we have a ticket out of French Polynesia, and as wonderful as it is, we do eventually intend to leave, our friends on Rogue aren’t as lucky…
And Evan fulfills a lifelong dream to visit the grave of one of the world’s most renowned painters Gaugin – perhaps fulfilling one of the painters dreams to rest in peace in the lands and among the people he most loved – in the Marquesas.
