Amadea Ruling goes against Owner/Crew 27th May
27th May the appeal failed in the high court in Fiji. (The ruling was stayed for 7 days meaning the vessel was not allowed to leave for that period.)
On Friday, 27 May 2022, the Senior Superintendent of Police of the Fiji. Police Force instructed that the Amadea crew and captain would need to disembark the Amadea as the substitute crew of the US. Authorities would be coming onboard the Amadea.
At 14:38 on Friday, 27 May 2022, captain John received a message from Mr Feizal Haniff of Haniff Tuitoga Lawyers and lawyers for the Appellant saying “We have lost, Stay Seven days”. At 14:39 I asked SSP Neiko what this would mean, he advised US Authorities will come onboard throughout the 7 day stay.
