Join our Patreon : patreon.com/BarefootDoctorsSailing for only $3/week

Join Barefoot Doctors Sailing as we take you with us through a storm front of 35-40 knots of wind and then ask the question “How well are Leopard catamarans built?” and of course how much pounding can they take! The storm footage shows the rough weather and significant Leopard 50 rocking and rolling as if was back in the disco days….

So we go back and show you how the catamarans are built with particular attention to the strength of the bulkheads, how well they are fibreglassed in and the processes that they use to create the reputation that they have….

Johan, Godrey and Rotenda showed me around and here you can actually see the processes used to create the hulls and all the stages of production with the quality assurance processes shared as well.

In the next episode (S3#20) we will take you out on the water with us for the crossing, starting with the departure day in detail and then the two days of sailing through the storm front, making 203nm in the first 24 hours of sailing despite (or because of) the 35-40 knots. All our viewers are very excited to share in the actual crossing so we will work hard to get that footage edited on the go and bring it to you without too much delay. And then we can share with you some of the ocean crossing prep and passage planning at a later date….

We will then progressively take you with on the crossing to let you know what it is like to sail 8000 miles across open ocean, so stay tuned!

Our exciting Patreon option will allow our supporters to enjoy live updates on positions and daily logs on the Atlantic crossing as well as join us for sailing events in Gocek, Turkey (Sept 2023), Aegean Greece, May 2024. Then in Dubai Jan 2025 (aboard the new Portofino 52) join us for the launching party and test sails!!! We are also offering boat build tours with sailing off Dubai to share the progress of the P52 build and provide whatever sailing or life discussions that YOU want us to provide during all of these events….. It is a very exciting prospect and we have been requested repeatedly to give advice, take folk sailing, teach sailing techniques etc etc…. So here it is!!!

Any Patreons will have the choice to join us for these events which are usually about 5 days to be up close and personal with Eli and John and learn from their expertise… There will be sailing trips, excursions and chats during the events and the subjects will be designed to suit the participants that will be there. Patreons will receive all the sailing and talks with the Barefoot Doctors without any cost but will only have to cover their own travel, food and accomodation costs.

All Patreon proceeds go to Exqisit Life Foundation to support TUFMINDS Mental Resilience and Suicide Prevention Program worldwide.

Some come Barefoot with us on this exciting journey – now physically and in person with Patreon if you wish!!!

Binge watch and come barefoot with us as we travel and explore the planet, mostly from the water but sometimes through the minds of others as we provide aid and support where needed through the amazing TUFMINDS solutions!
