After rescuing three souls off of a Bavaria 44, I knew something was wrong when I first laid eyes on that dismasted ship all those miles out to sea. It really had no business being out there (in my humble opinion) but I wanted a few other sources to nail down exactly WHY.
I finally got them in the form of a chance sighting in Ensanada, and a rigger named Chris Catterton.
Chris was the man who re-rigged ‘Te Vega’ the Mason 65 that I took across the Pacific a few years ago. You can find that video series here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Io0L22FDq4
When I was requested to help with this boat‘s rigging, I called up Chris to see if he could help us out. He ended up making most of the rigging, and we installed it in Ensanada.
Before he got away I sat down with him and had a conversation about Yara, weak parts of the rig, and got his opinions on a few things. This is the YouTube video that came out of it.

If you’d like to see the entire interview I’ve put it up in the past posts in full. This bit will give you all the pertinent parts.
