After waiting ONE YEAR to get our compression post back after giving the materials to the local welder, her finally dropped it back off to us, and it’s Beautiful!!
Matt and I are riding a high at the moment because we just bonded down the cabin top on our boat!!

We spent the first few days with the post getting it into place by cutting down the flange of the cabin side, and then trimming down the top edges of the post itself to nestle into the cabin top.

After tarping the exterior of the boat to keep it warm, we were ready to bond down. We had prepped 4 liters of our methacrylate at the beginning, and as fast as I could bag it, Matt was applying it to the flange. And the 4 liters only got us halfway!

It was still a race against the clock, but 3 hours after starting, we had all the the top lowered, all the gaps filled, and the flange of the cabin side cleated to the top. (Don’t worry, we’ll have a drop down liner that will hide the screw holes.)

Whew!!

This is a HUGE step forward for us, and now that the cabin top is on, we can finish out the bridge deck and start building our raised helm.

We hope you enjoy!!
