This week we sail the 100nm crossing from Crete to Silos though the channel that has a reputation as one of the roughest in the area! We put the Leopard 45 through it’s paces and in 20-26 knots, complete the crossing before sunset!

The Portofino update this week shares the process of manufacturing the chainplates and bushes and the final; welding steps are performed with the high tech (and very expensive) laser welders that create a welding result that is visibly better than MIG welding, even to complete welding amateurs! See the interesting and high quality processes in the chainplate production.
Also interesting is the level of experience the welders of Portofino have with Abilash who is shown here, having 15 years of marine aluminium welding experience, like most of the welders on the team. This gives the confidence in the final result…..
