The Appalachian mountains are home to some of the most beautiful and iconic wild spaces in America. While they may not have the massive vistas and open spaces of the Rockies or the Sierras, much of the Appalachian mountains receive so much rainfall that they are considered temperate rainforest making these mountains some of the lushest and greenest places in north America.

One of the biggest reasons that I would consider moving my family here is so that we can live out in nature. I want my growing family to directly experience where our food comes from. And for me, living an adventurous lifestyle makes me feel thrilled to be alive and more than anything I want to pass that sense of gratitude onto my daughters.

Last week we explored the region in the North Georgian Mountains near the small town of Dahlonega. And today we’re checking out another part of Northern Georgia, this time near the town of Blue Ridge.

This week Isabella lives her best life when her favorite food literally falls from the sky, we learn how to catch trout like a pro, and we continue to search for our new home.
