In this episode we continue work on our helm station – except instead of mocking up items, we’re actually building pieces! Or glassing together bits and pieces to make a Frankenstien’s monster version of our helm.

In last week’s video we discussed how many changes in helm options have happened since Max Cruise had originally molded our pieces back in 2020. Now both our thoughts (and theirs) are to move the helm forward until it attached to bulkhead 6, the barrier between our cockpit and salon. But since the piece originally molded for our boat sits much further back, we have a lot of changes to make.

From cutting down the height, cutting off the back, and splicing in bits here and there to fit the curves of the cabin side and cabin top; and then angling it so we don’t block our window, we’re left with something that is custom just to us, but should feel like it’s always belonged on this boat.

We hope you enjoy!
