Trekking Cinque Terre, Italy. Top things to See & Do 😮 | TRAVEL GUIDE

❤️ Trekking the Cinque Terre trail in Italy… from… Monterosso to Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. 😮

Çinque Tære, translates to “Five Lands” in Italian. On this episode we visit each unique town along the coast of the Italian Riviera.

Day 1: Monterosso to Vernazza ( FREE ROUTE )
Day 2: Riomaggiore to Manarola ( PAID NATIONAL FEE )
Day 3: Vernazza to Corniglia ( FREE ROUTE )

The Cinque Terre National park boasts hiking trails that link the colourful villages which are UNESCO World Heritage listed.

We stayed in Monterosso in May 2018. After trekking each day we caught the train back to our accomodation every night. The public transport runs regularly but be careful of pick pockets. Warning signs are everywhere at train stations, although we didn’t have a problem.

The villages were severely impacted by torrential rains and flooding which caused deadly mudslides in 2011, killing 9 people.

For current information on the walking trails visit:

Riomaggiore – Manarola: The main part of the trail is closed (expected to open in April 2021). But just because the MAIN trail is closed, doesn’t mean you can’t trek between these destinations. There are alternate routes higher in the cliffs.
