This time we cross the Moskstraumen on our way from the inner to the outer Lofoten Islands. Moskstraumen has a pretty fierce reputation, it’s a complex system of tidal currents and whirlpools and in the old literature it was just referred to as “The Maelstrom”. The difference between many other tidal currents and whirlpools is that this one is out on the open ocean.
