Deep in the jungle of Costa Rica a team of boat builders are living in a community and building the largest active, clean, ocean going cargo vessel in the ENTIRE WORLD.
After sailing deep into the Gulf of Nicoya in Costa Rica, we anchored right next to a river mouth where we could take our dinghy back into the mangroves. And amongst the wild jungle that surrounded us in every direction was a very special shipyard. Sail Cargo Inc. is a team of half Costa Rican and half international workers and dreamers who are living together in a community and building the first of what will become a fleet of wooden ships that will sail cargo on various routes around the world. We are lucky enough to go on a little tour around the place and learn more about this incredibly and totally mind blowing project.
