The team at the Portofino Shipyard show the first bulkheads being assembled and how they are watertight and the clear and visible strength that they have….
We also share important structural information about the P52 with discussions with Emilio D’Onofrio, the Structural and Marine Engineer and he explains how the FEM analysis is done to ensure that there are not weak points in the design and testing to assess the maximum amount the boat will flex in the worst conditions possible. This is using Italian Navy standards and he also built in a 20% safety margin too – using 1G of force instead of the actual force of 0.8G that the boat would sustain.
