We are thrilled to announce our nomination in theInternational Cruiser Awards for Best Refit! As you know we spent 4 years refitting our boat, Avocet, then cast off in September with the plan to finish the refit in Mexico at the end of our cruising season – however, Avocet had other plans. We experienced a near catastrophic engine failure and with no opportunity to repower, we had to rebuild our engine on the hook. It was one heck of an experience, but afterwards we can finally say we concluded our 5 year refit. We have touched every inch of our boat, inside and out.
